Tottenham centre-back Sebastien Bassong transferred from Newcastle is set to make his debut in the Barclays Premier League clash against Liverpool at White Hart Lane.
He is expected to partner Ledley King as Jonathan Woodgate is recovering from groin surgery and Michael Dawson is ruled out with an Achilles injury.
Gareth Bale (knee) is also ruled out and Jermaine Jenas (calf) is doubtful.
Moreover, Peter Crouch is there for spurs!
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez will monitor Steven Gerrard's fitness ahead of the trip to London.
Gerrard sat out England's draw against Holland in midweek after suffering a groin injury.
Central defenders Jamie Carragher and Martin Skrtel could both be available after ankle and hamstring problems respectively. .
